Firstly, what is the purpose of a Cone Penetration Test?

A cone penetration test (CPT) is used to determine the geotechnical properties of soils. CPT has become the most widely used and accepted test methods for determining geotechnical soil properties.

CPT results are used by our clients geotechnical engineering teams to understand the soil properties (the relative density of the soil and the soil behavior type, both of which are calculated from the cone penetration test cone tip resistance and sleeve friction) and how the ground is likely to behave under different conditions.

This information will help in the design of foundations and ground improvements - reducing costs and risks during the design and build phases.

We use professional engineers  for our CPT tests.

Assess

Professional assessment

At CPTtest, our experience geotechnical engineers will disucss and assess the requirements of the investigation required.

We will perform a site visit to ensure the scope of works are accurately costed and can be completed within our clients timelines.

Estimate

Competitive rates

The estimation provided will not only be competitive priced, it will include a number of line items showing you:

  • Estimated hours needed to complete the task,
  • The material or other expenses that will be required during testing
  • Total fees to deliver the report and data as per the assessement phase,

We will answer any question you have before proceeding and commening works.

CPT Report

Data you can rely on.

The CPT data is stored in raw files and we calculate the various soil parameters based on this data. The data is stored in ASCII format and stored on our secure data center servers.

Our Geo Explorer system can export this data in GEF file or PDF file format for passing it on to the Geo tech enginers for advice and consultancy as required.
